We support hawksbill monitoring and research projects at many sites along the Pacific Coast of the Americas, from Mexico to Peru. However, our volunteer program is focused on two sites in the vicinity of the Gulf of Fonseca (Central America), home to approximately 90% of hawksbill nesting activity in the entire eastern Pacific. Two project sties, two challenges, with the same goal....

Volunteers can join the Estero Padre Ramos or the Bahia Jiquilisco project for anywhere from one week to five months, but we recommend a minimum stay of two weeks to really get to know the project and local communities. The two project sites, as well as the volunteer duties are quite similar to each other. Volunteers interested in splitting time between the two project sites should Contact Us about this option.
